The LGBTIQ community arrived at the 26th Pride March with a series of specific slogans for this year, but also with its long-standing demands of the State. What follows is a possible overview of the progress, shortcomings, and ongoing struggles regarding the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex, and queer people in Argentina in 2017.

Around 8:30 p.m., half a block from Plaza del Congreso, three men attacked people leaving the demonstration. One of them struck 33-year-old Juan Víctor González in the head with a hockey stick. After midnight, the young man was released from the hospital with seven stitches. The assailant was arrested.

Alarmed by the protocol for detaining LGBTI people launched by the Argentine Ministry of Security a few weeks ago, and by police actions in general, organizations and activists filed a preventative action this morning with Court 16 of the City of Buenos Aires. The action seeks to guarantee freedom of expression during today's 26th LGBTIQ Pride celebration.

They met in Santiago in 2014, fell in love quickly, and set off to travel through Europe. They began documenting their trip, thinking their friends would enjoy seeing how their adventure together was unfolding. What happened was that they went viral.
In the Argentine Senate Auditorium, a bill was presented to provide reparations to transgender and transvestite people who suffered institutional violence because of their gender identity. This took place within the framework of the #ReconocerEsReparar (Recognize Is Repair) campaign, promoted by more than 30 LGBTQ+ organizations.
Víctor Doroschuk, an evangelical pastor from San Rafael with over 10,000 followers and a daily column on public radio station LV4, stated on air that homosexuality is a sin that “leads to death.” More than two hundred people signed a complaint filed with the National Institute Against Discrimination, Xenophobia and Racism (INADI), and he is scheduled to attend a conciliation hearing on November 23. He was also reported to the Ombudsman's Office for his remarks.
