DJA, 65, was murdered, beaten and stabbed twice. On April 4, he was found lying in bed in his home in Béccar, in the San Isidro district of Buenos Aires province. Two days later, a 29-year-old man was arrested for the crime. A perfume was the key piece of evidence leading to the alleged perpetrator. Authorities are calling for the murder to be investigated as a hate crime.
In this radio segment on "You Can't Live on Love" with Franco Torchia, we discuss the postponement of the fifth hearing in the Diana Sacayán transphobic murder case. The court reported that the postponement was due to traffic disruptions during the transfer of the accused, Gabriel David Marino, from the Ezeiza Penitentiary Complex. We also talk about the elections in Paraguay, the political parties' stances on LGBTQ+ issues, and a complaint filed by a group of students in Paraná regarding homophobic content at a Baptist evangelical school.
We reviewed the parties' proposals and the candidates' statements during the campaign to find out what they propose regarding LGBTI people.
A group of high school students from the Evangelical Baptist Christian Institute of Paraná (Entre Ríos) publicly denounced that the authorities prepared school material with homophobic content.
