New line of financial support for transvestites and trans people over 50: how to access it
It is equivalent to the sum of six minimum, vital, and mobile wages, and will be granted only once. Requirements and how to apply.

Transgender and transvestite individuals over 50 years of age who are in a situation of economic vulnerability can now access a one-time economic support program for social protection. This program provides a benefit equivalent to six minimum wages.
It is intended for transvestites and transgender people aged 50 and over who do not have formal employment. It was created by the Ministry of Women, Gender and Diversity through Resolution 353/2022, which was published in the Official Gazette on June 29.
The expenses for which the economic support line can be used are those intended for "food, clothing, health, education, housing, access to employment, access to documentation and/or procedures, access to public, essential and strategic services (telephony, internet), among others that refer to access to rights," the resolution says.
The economic aid program was managed by the Undersecretariat for Diversity Policies, headed by Greta Pena. It is part of the actions of the Program for Strengthening Access to Rights for Transvestite, Transsexual, and Transgender People.

What are the requirements?
The measure is aimed at older people (50 years or older).
They must be residents in Argentina and have a National Identity Document, although it does not need to be rectified according to gender identity.
Is it compatible with other social benefits?
The economic assistance program is compatible with other social programs, but not with formal employment. Therefore, those who have income through salaried employment and/or are registered as self-employed (monotributo) are not eligible.
The exception to this rule is for people who have a registered job under the Special Employment Contract Regime for Domestic Workers and the Social Monotax. Both cases are compatible with the program.
Its objective is "to contribute to reversing the pattern of structural inequality that conditions the effective access to rights of the transvestite and trans population, in particular of transvestites, transgender or transsexual people who are going through old age, according to their life expectations, and do not have formal employment."
How to access the budget line?

The program establishes two ways to receive applications: via email or in paper format at the reception desk of the Ministry of Women, Gender and Diversity.
Either application form must include contact information, such as a personal email address or phone number.
By email:
An email is sent to the institutional address programatravestitrans@mingeneros.gob.ar.
The subject line should read "Program for Strengthening Access to Rights for Transvestite, Transsexual, and Transgender People." Additionally, complete the following information: full name, contact phone number, and a description of the purpose of the request. The Ministry will then contact you.
By mail or by submitting the documentation at the reception desk:
If you are unable to submit your request via email, you can submit it in paper format. You must include the same information required in the email.
It must be submitted to the reception desk of the Ministry of Women, Gender and Diversity, located at Av. Paseo Colón 275, 5th floor, in the city of Buenos Aires.
To access the program, you will need to submit a sworn statement, which the Ministry will send in response to your email or printed application. You must print this statement, sign it, and return it to the program's email address. Then, the process will continue.
