Seven years after the hate crime against Pepa Gaitán, Lesbian Visibility Day was commemorated with a festival in Buenos Aires. This photo essay captures how the lesbian movement celebrated, demanded justice, and made its voice heard. Photos: Ariel Gutraich. Under the slogans "celebrate our existence and make it visible" and " freedom for Higui de Jesús ," lesbians and LGBTQ+ groups gathered to commemorate March 7th, Lesbian Visibility Day. The meeting point in Buenos Aires—there were other demonstrations throughout the country—was the Torre de los Ingleses (English Tower), across from the Retiro train station.
