Valen, a non-binary child, brought proposals for free childhoods to her school

JUJUY, Argentina. Valen was born in the province of Jujuy, Argentina. She is 11 years old and, through her own story, explains what the binary system is and why she is not satisfied with it.

“Non-binary people break the hegemonic parameter of gender,” she states.

With the support of their family and Laureano Marina Vilte - a non-binary lawyer, also from Jujuy - Valen achieved recognition of their identity despite the legal obstacles that sought to pathologize their childhood.

In this video, Valen shares her present and the proposals she brought to her school so that children can grow up free and respected.
