JUJUY, Argentina. Valen was born in the province of Jujuy, Argentina. He is 11 years old and shares his own story about the binary system and why it doesn't suit him.

“Non-binary people break the hegemonic parameter of gender,” she says.

With the support of her family and Laureano Marina Vilte —a non-binary lawyer also from Jujuy—Valen achieved recognition of her identity despite the legal obstacles that sought to pathologize her childhood.

In this video, Valen shares her present and the initiatives she brought to her school so that children can grow up free and respected.
