On Sunday, March 8th, Leo Bustamante and his partner Edgar went to the It Italy restaurant at the Nuevocentro Shopping mall in Nueva Córdoba and ordered gnocchi, tiramisu, and a fruit salad. When they received the receipt, it read: "FRUIT SALAD TO GO FOR THE FAGGOTS." Leo posted this on his social media, and it went viral. While filing the corresponding complaints, they told Presentes what they experienced.
“My mind goes blank when I try to believe that there are still people with so much anger and hatred towards an ordinary guy, like me, who just wanted to eat gnocchi and fruit salad. It’s time to rethink the people we surround ourselves with and ‘work’ with. More empathy for others, please,” Leo wrote on his social media.

Speaking to local media , he elaborated: “We told the girl to read the receipt. I’ll never forget her ‘I want to die’ face.” Agencia Presentes spoke with Leo, who explained: “The company called us twice to apologize. I was in contact with company executives, and everything is fine; we accepted their apology. It seems the situation is beyond the control of the employer who is in charge. Regardless of whether we accepted the apology, a formal complaint must be filed.”

The young people who were discriminated against will file a complaint with the Consumer Protection Agency and explained to this media outlet that they will formalize the complaint today at the Córdoba branch of the National Institute Against Discrimination, Xenophobia and Racism (INADI). Presentes contacted the company, which stated that it will issue a statement regarding the incident.
