This week, Argentina's President Mauricio Macri announced the reduction of half of the national ministries, including the Ministry of Health.

This week, Argentine President Mauricio Macri announced the reduction of half of the national ministries , including the Ministry of Health, which will be downgraded to a secretariat within the Ministry of Social Development. Following the announcement, which will impact public health policies, Sergio Maulen, head of the AIDS program, resigned. Officials from the department denounced that AIDS and sexually transmitted infection (STI) programs are at risk due to these austerity measures .
