“Kleo fought for a fairer and more dignified world for lesbians”
“At different feminist marches and against LGBTphobia, we shouted and sang slogans together… Kleo, from her own corner, fought for the visibility of lesbians, for a more just and dignified world for us. Patriarchy is everywhere; it wants to annihilate us. The best weapon we have to fight is to continue organizing with others, to love each other, to create community,” her comrades from La Tortillería Queretana recalled, emphasizing that Kleo was already an open lesbian before the organization even existed. They added: “While each femicide in this country compels us to continue demanding justice, the fact that it was one of our own reaffirms that lesbian-feminist activism is necessary to continue insisting on building our world, which is from, by, for, and among us, as well as eliminating the heteropatriarchy that continues to kill us in every way possible.”
