What do we mean when we talk about lesbian visibility? Women from different generations share what visibility means to each of them today. What activities are planned in different cities across the country? Why are they marching with their own contingent on March 8th?
“I feel called to the Women’s Strike because it is our right as women of diverse backgrounds,” says trans activist Niki Raveau. “Lesbians are made invisible,” adds activist Claudia Amigo. They, along with other LGBTQ+ activists, are calling for people to take to the streets next Wednesday at 7 p.m.

The complaint of discrimination based on sexual orientation has already been filed with INADI (National Institute Against Discrimination, Xenophobia and Racism).
In Paraguay, the "Rohendu" hotline (Guarani for "I hear you") offers support and guidance to the LGBTI community experiencing discrimination, as well as to their families and friends. "It's not normal to be mistreated," emphasize the videos promoting the hotline. It operates Monday through Friday and is free to access from any phone.
The demand for justice for Eva Analía Higui de Jesús—attacked for being a lesbian and imprisoned for homicide—was the central theme of the latest Permanent Lesbian Assembly, held this week in Buenos Aires. It was agreed to join the March 8th #NiUnaMenos march, International Women's Day, with a lesbian contingent.
