Agencia Presentes is a regional news agency based in Buenos Aires. We cover current events related to sexual diversity in Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Paraguay, Peru, Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala from a human rights perspective as a way to combat discrimination. In 2019, it was declared "of interest for the defense and promotion of human rights" by the Buenos Aires City Legislature.
We were born in 2016 to make visible the violence against transvestite, transsexual, transgender, lesbian, gay, bisexual, and intersex people, but also to account for the conquest of the collective, its social, political and cultural networks.
To achieve this, we created a journalistic network with correspondents in every country. In addition to breaking news, real-time coverage from the field, we offer investigative reporting and transmedia storytelling.
Our mission is to raise awareness and improve journalistic practices in covering gender and diversity issues. To achieve this, we develop tools and initiatives in-person and online training for journalists throughout Latin America.
We are committed to a type of journalism that delves deeply into the realm of the world and offers in-depth research, combined with new technologies and narrative formats. We want the protagonists, their stories, and their struggles to be present.
