Why does a person from a diverse sexual/cultural background have to be in Congress or the Legislature?
Because everyone has the same right to participate in any space they want. Whether it's Congress, the City Council, or any other space.
When did you decide to run for office and why?
I got into politics after a segment on a local TV channel. The idea behind the interview was to learn about the life of a trans person so that people could be aware and informed. I was known for working in nightclubs and doing public relations. Also for being trans and for working in a supermarket. So, thanks to the visibility of that segment, I was invited to join the movement, and I decided to give it a try.
How do you think hatred can be combated through politics?
Hate has always existed. I think people are unhappy today and distrustful of politics and politicians. I don't know if it's something that can be fought. We have to work to accept that we don't all think the same way.
Did you think of any strategies to respond to the smear campaigns and disinformation against LGBT people in the media?
No. It has happened to me that when people write articles about me, many positive and negative comments appear. I don't respond to the negative ones.
How do we prevent a decline in rights?
Investing in the future, working hard for the people. Contributing ideas and positive messages to expand our rights and defend those we already have.
What is the first project you are going to present?
Many, and we're working on it. Basically, projects that involve children, adults, and the elderly. I want to try to help everyone in the city.
Recommendation
A film, song, book, or cultural experience that politically influenced you?The movie I saw as a child that really marked me was The Night of the Pencils.
