The goal of being a Godparent involves providing support to the institution so that it can continue providing the services it has been performing.

What services do we offer?

Advice, support, containment, accompaniment, shelter and food for people of sexual diversity who are in a vulnerable situation.

Who is it aimed at?

It is primarily aimed at trans women, who need a home to live in, receive comprehensive education and training in trades that allow for self-management and sustainability of the house.

Observations

Casa Diversa is a community center for diversity. They are currently looking for a new home where they can feel safe, as they have been victims of violence at the hands of strangers on several occasions. In Paraguay, trans women are among the most discriminated against and invisible populations, often by the State itself. They are absent from statistics and lack the right to identity. The pandemic exacerbated their vulnerable situation. None of the public policies implemented have benefited them. Faced with this adversity, Casa Diversa began undertaking various projects to foster self-management and dignified work created by and for them. They started making pet beds, therapeutic pillows, cleaning products, and selling natural remedies. They also provide space for trans women from the organization Escalando to create screen-printed products.
