Comic: How do we care for trans children and adolescents?

At a time when trans children and youth face constant social scrutiny from anti-rights groups, this comic is a tool against misinformation. How do we disarm, care for, and build safe and free spaces for them?

Trans children, adolescents, and young adults—and their caregivers—face constant social scrutiny from anti-rights groups that are gaining power globally. How do we protect them? How do we build safe and free spaces for them? Listening to their voices, supporting them with love, and understanding that their identity is not a phase or a choice but a profound and legitimate experience are crucial parts of the journey.

The misinformation and myths spread to manipulate public perception against the human rights of transgender people have real consequences. They impact the exercise of rights for transgender minors, such as the recognition of their identity and access to healthcare, mental health care , and gender-affirming healthcare .

This comic aims to be a tool against misinformation, to dismantle some myths, and also to reflect, learn, support, and listen to the needs of trans children and adolescents.

Juntes Narramos is a project by Malvestida , Volcánicas , GirlUp , Balance and Presentes to strengthen and amplify the voices of young people through narratives of diversity.
