Video: Trans children exist and resist within their families

Many people may find it difficult to understand transgender children, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. From Presentes, Malvestida, and Es para mi tarea, this video tells a story of free childhoods.

MEXICO CITY. “Let it flow. If today she wants to feel like a girl, then she’s a girl. If in 10 years she doesn’t anymore, then she won’t. And if in 20 years she still does, she’ll still be our daughter.” That’s what the mother of a trans girl told us at the Pride march in Mexico City. We were moved to see this united and proud family.

Many people may find it difficult to understand transgender children, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. Nor does it mean they don't know who they are. Did you know that the 2021 INEGI Survey found that 62.4% of transgender people perceived their gender identity before the age of 7?

From Presentes, Malvestida and Es para mi tarea we made this video to add to the visibility of trans children and the respect for their identities.
