Mariela Muñoz was the first trans person to be legally recognized as a woman on her national identity document. And one of the most famous mothers in Argentine history.

The story of Mariela Muñoz, the trans activist who was born in Lules (Tucumán), on December 24, 1943, grew up in the Buenos Aires municipality of Quilmes. And at the age of 14, she decided that no one was going to call her by any name other than Mariela .
