The warmth of Pride in June spreads to every corner of Mexico, reaching every state, municipality, neighborhood, and plaza. This celebration, so eagerly awaited by LGBT+ collectives, activists, and organizations, comes hand in hand with diverse slogans to make all identities visible, embrace freedom, reclaim love and diverse relationships, and demand dignity for trans lives. It also serves to take a stand against the genocide and apartheid system experienced by eight racialized countries, among many other demands and celebrations.
This month, Pride is celebrated in Mexico and in various Latin American countries—Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Bolivia, Brazil, among others. It's a way of remembering June 28, 1969, when a group of LGBT people resisted mistreatment and arbitrary arrests at a New York City nightclub for two days.

Mexico City
