Starting at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 24, hundreds of thousands of people gathered at various points across the country to march. The national strike called by the Argentine National Confederation of Labor (CGT) was joined by unions, social organizations, activists, and individuals who demonstrated against the government of Javier Milei.
The main slogans were against the Emergency Decree and the "Bases" Law, which has already passed the Chamber of Deputies and proposes modifications to more than 600 articles affecting all sectors of society. This includes, in particular, the working class , environmental policies , Indigenous communities, culture, art, and gender policies . These were the main demands in the streets of Buenos Aires, but also in different parts of the country, as well as in various demonstrations abroad in support of the strike and in condemnation of Milei.
