This Thursday, new searches will be conducted as part of the ongoing search for Tehuel De la Torre , whose whereabouts have been unknown since March 11, 2021. The searches will cover 39 hectares in the San Vicente district of Buenos Aires province, as well as a stream that runs through the town of Alejandro Korn.
The area to be searched is where the cell phone of Luis Alberto Ramos, one of the two people arrested in the case, was activated. The phone was activated between 4 and 6 a.m. on March 12, 2021.
Although these are two fields where search operations were already carried out several months ago, this time the team is returning to the area to conduct a more thorough survey. Participating in the operation will be officers from the Buenos Aires Provincial Police, the Federal Police, the National Gendarmerie, the Scientific Police, a forensic anthropology specialist, volunteer firefighters, and divers.
The specific request from prosecutor Karina Guyot—made two weeks ago—is to carry out a search and raid of the aforementioned area, characterized as an inhospitable place, full of trees and shrubs, impassable, and arid. The search will begin at 7:30 a.m., starting at the intersection of Presidente Perón Avenue and Del Viejo Tranvía Street in San Vicente.

The call for justice
In an interview with Presentes , Verónica Alarcón, Tehuel's sister, questioned the actions of the justice system. She also lamented having learned through the media that these searches would be carried out. She insisted that the young trans man's maternal family does not believe it is possible to find him alive and hopes for a conviction of those responsible.
“I think it’s too late to keep searching. If these two detainees haven’t spoken by now, I don’t think they’ll ever say anything. Neither my family nor I have any hope of finding him alive. It’s a terrible pain ,” said Verónica. She added, “My mother is suffering because she doesn’t have her son, and the justice system is just rubbing salt in the wound with these searches.”
He also emphasized that "the Justice system never gave us any information, not even at the beginning of the search." However, he said that during the operations they would go to the site to closely monitor any developments in the investigation.
For his part, Andrés de la Torre, Tehuel's father, told Télam that "I always have hope that he is alive. It's a real torture."
Split cause
The operation on Thursday, September 8, was possible due to the splitting of this legal case. While the main case progressed to the indictment of the two detainees, Luis Alberto Ramos (37) and Oscar Alfredo Montes (46), accused of the crime of "double aggravated homicide motivated by hatred of sexual orientation and gender identity," the Cañuelas Guarantee Judge, Martín Rizzo, authorized the investigation to remain open to find Tehuel.

Another order by Tehuel
The Self-Organized Group for Tehuel called for a march on Monday, September 12, from the Ministry of Women to the Buenos Aires Province House.
“Neither the municipality of San Vicente, nor the Ministry of Women and Diversity, nor the Buenos Aires Provincial Government, nor the justice system provided sufficient resources to locate her,” they emphasize. “On the contrary, they engaged in a cover-up. Those who should have acted swiftly swept everything under the rug. We will take to the streets again on Monday the 12th to demand that Tehuel be found alive now,” the statement reads.
