Usha Didi, the trans woman who marked the LGBT memory of Paraguay

During LGBT Remembrance Month in Paraguay, Presentes chose the artist Usha Didi Guanita to commemorate this date. In this comic, we tell you who she is.

ASUNCIÓN, Paraguay. Usha Didi Gunatita was a pioneer of trans activism in the Paraguayan entertainment world. She was part of the first trans theater cast and was a performer, activist, actress, but above all, a great defender of LGBT rights.

September is LGBT Remembrance Month in Paraguay, where those tragic weeks of persecution of the homosexual community are remembered, following the murder of Bernardo Aranda (killed in 1959) during the dictatorship of Alfredo Stroessner.

In this comic created by Juliana Quintana with illustrations by Sofi A. Heyn, Presentes rescues the figure of Usha as a trans activist.
