At the age of 17, when she gave birth to her only daughter, she was forcibly sterilized by medical staff at one of El Salvador's main public hospitals. The Constitutional Chamber of the country's Supreme Court only acknowledged that her reproductive health rights had been violated. Eleven years later, she still longs to become a mother again.
