Yesterday, based on witness statements in the case concerning the disappearance of Tehuel De la Torre, a new search was conducted in the northern area of ​​Alejandro Korn, Buenos Aires province. The Prosecutor's Office concluded that the search results "were negative."

The operation was led by the Prosecutor's Office team in charge of the case, the Buenos Aires Provincial Police, and the Investigations Directorate. They worked at the site with tactical divers, as the search was concentrated in the Mirin lagoon/wetland. This is located a few meters from the house where the first detainee, Luis Alberto Ramos, and the second, Alfredo Montes, lived.

After learning that there were no new developments in the investigation, the plaintiff's lawyer, Alejandro Valle, told Presentes: “The work of the prosecution is often evaluated based on its results. The investigation has been impeccable, but it has one problem: Tehuel could not be found.”

The lawyer also explained that “the prosecution’s case was central to tracing Tehuel’s movements through Google and recovering the photo taken with the two defendants.” This photo, which circulated on social media yesterday, shows the two men—now under arrest—sitting with Tehuel inside a house (Montes’s, the second man arrested), gathered around a small table. 

Verónica Alarcón, Tehuel's sister, was with other family members yesterday at the perimeter where the latest search was conducted. Speaking with Presentes, she emphasized that "the investigation is ongoing every day." She added that in yesterday's operation, "they reached a point where they have to search the irrigation ditches in the fields again." 

Valle said that "the mother says she wants Tehuel to appear, alive or dead."

Two and a half months

Tehuel de la Torre disappeared on March 11. That day he left his home in San Vicente to go to Alejandro Korn, where Luis Alberto Ramos, a man he had known for three years and who had offered him a job as a waiter that night, was waiting for him. From that moment on, neither his family nor the authorities heard anything more about the young trans man.

The homes of the two detainees are located in humble neighborhoods of Alejandro Korn. Dirt roads, numerous vacant lots, and makeshift soccer fields complete the picture of the last few blocks that, according to sources very close to the investigation, Tehuel traveled through.

Although six raids were carried out there—including yesterday's—in search of clues about Tehuel's whereabouts, there has been very little concrete progress. The results of forensic tests are still pending. Those leading the judicial investigation maintain that the detainees hold the key to the young man's location.

The Ministry of Security, through the Provincial Directorate for the Registry of Missing Persons, is offering a reward of between one million five hundred thousand pesos ($1,500,000) and two million pesos ($2,000,000) "to anyone who provides information leading to the whereabouts of 21-year-old Tehuel de La Torre, last seen on March 11 in San Vicente." The announcement states that the identity and confidentiality of any information provided will be guaranteed.

The last time Tehuel was seen, he was wearing gray pants, a white short-sleeved shirt, a blue jacket, a cap, and blue sneakers. He has a robust build, fair complexion, short dark hair, and is about 1.56 meters tall.
