Agencia Presentes is hosting a workshop on best journalistic practices for covering issues of sexual diversity. Held virtually, it is free of charge and requires prior registration. It consists of two three-hour virtual sessions. Space is limited.
Trainers: María Eugenia Ludueña, Ana Fornaro, Lucas Gutiérrez, Milena Pafundi and Violeta Alegre.
Aimed at: Students, journalists, communicators, media editors from Argentina and Paraguay.
Dates: May 27 and 28
Schedule: 10 AM to 1 PM Argentina / 9 AM to 12 PM Paraguay
Registration closes: May 24, 2021
The selected participants will receive confirmation of their registration on May 25th.

Goals:
To contribute to the development of good journalistic practices for communicating issues of sexual diversity from a gender and human rights perspective.
Some of the topics to be developed:
- Human rights approach: framework and definitions
- Definitions and confusions
- Scenarios: how the media treats LGBTI and gender news and issues
- Main problems and mistakes to avoid
- Data checking/Use of sources
- Building good practices
- Social media content
- Artivist Journalism
Requirements to apply:
- Being a communicator, journalist, or communication student. Whether as independent workers (freelancers) or linked to media or organizations.
- Living in Argentina and Paraguay.

Presents Agency
A regional digital media outlet specializing in gender, diversity, and human rights. We cover news, stories, and human rights violations against LGBTI+ people, human rights defenders, Indigenous women, and migrants from an intersectional perspective. We report on these struggles and seek to influence public opinion, combating discrimination and disinformation. We also strive to improve journalistic practices as a way to fight discrimination and contribute to building pluralistic and democratic communication.
María Eugenia Ludueña
Co-founder and co-director of Agencia Presentes. A graduate in Communication Sciences (UBA), she teaches the Human Rights Narratives Workshop in the Master's Program in Communication and Human Rights, Faculty of Journalism and Communication (National University of La Plata), and the Media Management Workshop (UMET). She is the author of *Laura: Life and Activism of Laura Carlotto* (Planeta) and *The World Doesn't Need More Songs* (La Parte Maldita).
Ana Fornaro
Journalist and migrant. She is co-founder and co-director of Agencia Presentes. She holds a degree in Literature and a Master's degree in Comparative Literature from the University of Lille 3 (France). She contributes to various media outlets in Argentina and Uruguay.
Lucas Gutiérrez
Journalist, writer, activist, HIV positive, performer, gay, and Capricorn. He has published work in the Washington Post, Página12, Clarín, BuzzFeed, and other publications. He has given two TEDx talks. He is currently the audience editor at Agencia Presentes and a columnist for FutuRock radio.
Violet Alegre
Trans activist, researcher, and columnist for Agencia Presentes. She holds a diploma in Gender, Politics, and Participation (National University of General Sarmiento) and teaches in that program.
She heads the Office of Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Sexual Orientation at the Buenos Aires City Justice Observatory. Together with Susy Shock and Marlene Wayar, she founded the Lohana Berkins Collective.
Milena Pafundi
She is a communicator, audiovisual producer, and visual artist. She studied Film Directing in Buenos Aires. She is currently the general coordinator of Agencia Presentes in Mexico, where she has lived since 2018.
