Thousands of women, lesbians, bisexuals, transvestites, trans people, and non-binary individuals marched on March 9th in a day of action for International Women's Day (March 8th). In Argentina, feminist movements called for a strike and took to the streets to demand rights.
Among the main demands were legal abortion, an end to gender-based violence, transvesticide, transfemicide, and femicide. There were also demands for comprehensive healthcare for trans people, a quota for transvestite and transgender employment, a safe haven for trans children, and the inclusion of non-hegemonic sexual orientations and gender identities in Comprehensive Sexuality Education.
