More than 1,200,000 people took to the streets of Santiago on October 25th in the largest march in Chilean history. There were also demonstrations in other regions of the country. The dissident movement marched, chanting the slogans "Desire and revolution, dissent in action: we're going for everything for everyone!".

Since October 19th, the Chilean government has declared a state of emergency, and the military has been deployed to the streets. This historic march demanded their return to the barracks. "Less cops, more transvestites!" read one of the signs in the diversity march in Santiago. There, they chanted: "You'll see when the transvestites take power."

There were also strong demands for an investigation into the growing number of reports of human rights violations perpetrated by the Carabineros and security forces since the protests began: "What the hell is going on? They kill us and rape us and nobody does anything."
