[More INFO about our WIKIDDHH LGBT+ project]
Why do we work with Wikipedia on LGBT+ content?
Wikipedia in Spanish is the largest free encyclopedia on the web, the fifth most visited site on the Internet (more than 35 million daily visits) and one of the most used sources of daily information in the region.

To ensure that content on sexual diversity has a human rights focus and complies with non-discrimination standards, Presentes and Wikimedia Argentina—the organization that oversees Wikipedia in Argentina—have joined forces on the Wiki LGBT+ Human Rights project. This alliance aims to build more inclusive communication and society. We are doing this with the support of the Embassy of Canada.

We started in Asunción, Paraguay and Buenos Aires in November 2018.

We continued with workshops and an edit-a-thon in San Miguel de Tucumán in February 2019.

Our next meeting will be on May 31st in the city of Santa Fe.
Journalism training workshops with a gender perspective
At Presentes, we have trained over 300 journalists on gender issues, both in person and online. We aim to influence journalistic practices to improve the quality of content related to violence and sexual diversity.
Who are we calling for this?
Wiki Human Rights LGBT + is an alliance between Agencia Presentes and WikiDDHH (Wikimedia Argentina) for inclusive communication of diversity, with the conviction that access to information is a right and a tool for social change.
WikiHumanRights seeks to build digital archives for the defense of human rights. Its objective is to strengthen and enhance this collective space, open to the exchange, systematization, and updating of information that highlights human rights violations in Latin American countries and around the world.
Periódicas is a self-managed feminist media outlet comprised of 21 professionals (including journalists, broadcasters, designers, and photographers), along with occasional contributors who address specific topics. The website features written, graphic, radio, and audiovisual materials.
We are Present
We are committed to a type of journalism that delves deeply into the realm of the world and offers in-depth research, combined with new technologies and narrative formats. We want the protagonists, their stories, and their struggles to be present.
