ARGENTINA The Diana Sacayán Law Reached Congress On International Workers' Day, in front of Congress in Buenos Aires, a group of more than ten social organizations and activists for sexual diversity presented a Front to promote a national law for trans employment quotas.
ARGENTINA Images from a trial that made history. The verdict in the transphobic murder of human rights activist Diana Sacayán was historic: for the first time in Latin America, the murder of a trans woman was convicted as a hate crime based on gender identity.

CHILE On the second anniversary of the murder of Nicole Saavedra, the 23-year-old lesbian who was kidnapped, beaten, and tortured to death, her family organized a memorial service on Sunday, June 24, near the Los Aromos reservoir, two hours from Santiago. This is the place where her body was found lifeless.

PERU Lima vibrated with pride and demands from LGBTI+ people

ARGENTINA Sexual diversity was part of the green wave that filled the streets surrounding the National Congress to demand #LegalAndSafeAbortion. “The work of bringing abortion out of the closet, of having been able to come together, is already something irreversible.”

PARAGUAY More than a thousand people took to the streets of Asunción on Saturday, September 29, to celebrate sexual diversity and demand an end to violence against the LGBTI community. Their slogan was “Memory, Pride, and Resistance.”
Uruguay has passed a comprehensive law for transgender people. While a gender identity law has existed since 2009, it was limited exclusively to changing the name on identity documents. Until now, there was no law that addressed the rights to health, housing, and employment for transgender people. Therefore, this comprehensive transgender law was drafted, which includes these rights as well as historical reparations for survivors.
