The workshop will analyze how issues of sexual diversity – which are often made invisible or stigmatized – can set the journalistic agenda and become ways to combat discrimination and fight against violence.
It is aimed at journalists and communicators working in Paraguay.

Coordinated by the directors of Presentes, María Eugenia Ludueña and Ana Fornaro, this will be our third workshop of 2018. The first was held at the Ombudsman's Office during the week of March 8th and focused on how to communicate about transvesticide and transfemicide . The second was an online workshop with the participation of journalists from Latin America.
Last year, Presentes offered workshops at the Rosario Press Union , the Santa Fe Press Association and the TEM Foundation (Tomás Eloy Martínez), in addition to a virtual workshop for journalists from Argentina, Peru, Paraguay and Chile.
The workshop's key points
1) How do major media outlets cover LGBTI issues? Diagnosis and case analysis.
2) Theoretical framework. Glossary and definitions.
3) Towards good journalistic practices. Sources and protagonists. How to report from a human rights perspective. Mistakes to avoid.
4) Stories, news, investigations.
