The body of a person between 40 and 50 years old was found with signs of violent death in a vacant lot in the Hospitales neighborhood of Rosario (Santa Fe province). Authorities have not yet identified the person and are investigating whether it was a transphobic hate crime. This was confirmed to Presentes by prosecutor Georgina Pairola.
However, for Patricia Emanuele, one of the leading figures in the transvestite-trans collective authorized for recognition, it is not a trans person.

“The leaders of the trans community don’t recognize him as part of it,” Pairola told Presentes. “The report on the body says he was wearing women’s clothing. I have to take into account that a body was found in an open field with signs of a violent death, and I’m going to investigate it according to the Minnesota protocol, because investigating it as a transphobic murder requires more precautions. It would be risky to rule out that it wasn’t a transphobic murder.”
The Minnesota Protocol, a standard developed in 1991 and adopted by the United Nations, is a guide that establishes standards of good technical practices that should be applied in autopsies to determine if a deceased person was executed.

At 11:30 a.m., a 911 call reported a body on a property located on Entre Ríos Street, between Virasoro and Gálvez, adjacent to the Belgrano Railway tracks. When police arrived, they found a body "dressed in women's clothing," lying next to a mural. The body had a nose injury and burns on the lower extremities. "The cause of death could have been strangulation because the body had a garment tied around the neck," Prosecutor Pairola told Presentes, although she clarified that the cause would be confirmed by the autopsy.
The prosecutor stated that there was a fire at the location and that firefighters were called to determine whether it was intentional. "Initially, it appears the death occurred there, but everything will be concluded after the forensic examinations." She added that they are also reviewing security camera footage to see if it provides any information to further the investigation.
