#LivingWithHIV Bicho and I #13: "We are not carriers"

In this installment of the comic strip that tells in the first person what it's like to live with HIV, Bicho and I dismantle one of the strongest definitions with our *bicho dictionary*.

Lucas Fauno Gutiérrez, screenwriter of the comic illustrated by Jon Amarillo , warns: “Talking about carriers is one of the worst ways to address those of us living with a virus. Surely there will be those who justify this term with the RAE (Royal Spanish Academy) and other explanations. But it is our own bodies that decide what makes us uncomfortable and what doesn't.” The guide of recommendations for journalists on HIV and AIDS, prepared by the Argentine Ministry of Health, also explains why it is advisable to avoid the word “carrier.” It can be consulted here .
