#Censorship Facebook shut down a page of lesbian activists who provide information about abortion
The website "Abortion Helpline: More Information, Fewer Risks," run by the organization Lesbians and Feminists, had been online for ten years and provided information on how to have an abortion using pills. It was taken down yesterday without prior notice. The reason given: "for promoting drug use." The organization is demanding that the website be reinstated immediately.

Coincidence?
The sudden censorship occurred yesterday afternoon, shortly after #Misoprostol—the drug used for abortion pills—became a trending topic on Twitter and the most searched term on Google Argentina. This happened while actress and activist Virginia Godoy, known as “Señorita Bimbo,” was appearing on the television program Intrusos—hosted by Jorge Rial—and speaking about abortion. “We denounce the campaign of persecution being carried out against both those of us who provide information and those who decide to have an abortion or seek reliable information on the subject. While the issue is gaining traction in the media and on social networks, we are being persecuted and reported on Facebook, the social network with the widest reach, where the most people contact us for information.”You can download the manual here .
