Mariana was only notified of her indictment , and this morning she appealed the decision with her lawyer, Lisandro Teszkiewicz.

“Officer Rojo’s argument is an insult to intelligence,” Teszkiewicz told the press. “Mariana is being prosecuted for resisting arrest and assault, and the officer said she hit him with her breasts, which is completely unheard of. Mariana was smoking in a prohibited area, but many other people were doing the same. She was kissing his wife, and that bothered him. The officer himself admitted that he had never arrested anyone for smoking. He singled out Mariana and Rocío,” he added.[NOW] #ArrestedForKissing We're at the courthouse where several people have already gathered for the #KissIn in support of Mariana Gómez, who is being prosecuted after being arrested in October while kissing her wife. https://t.co/nAsA1wYTh2 pic.twitter.com/4nksF0BKh4

Mariana told Presentes: “There are many things the judge didn’t take into account, and she only gave weight to what Officer Rojo said. I think we’re not the only ones suffering this. We’re tired of someone in power trampling on our rights, regardless of our sexual orientation.”[NOW] #ArrestedForKissing #kiss- in protest in support of Mariana Gómez, prosecuted after her arrest for kissing her wife, has begun at the courthouse https://t.co/nAsA1wYTh2 pic.twitter.com/1LdSid45el

It's not the first time we've been discriminated against for being lesbians, but it is the first time we've had problems with the police. The justice system is blaming me,” says Mariana Gómez from the courthouse. https://t.co/rwrDB7nfDR pic.twitter.com/HpVQ5PP32a
