Lima district proposed "eradicating homosexuals": had to apologize

San Martín de Porres, a district in Lima, made headlines because its 2017 Local Citizen Security Plan included, among other points, the "eradication of homosexuals." An official document even claimed to have "eradicated" 33 homosexuals in 2016. When this became public, the mayor apologized, stating it was a drafting error.
