The LGBT Ombudsman's Office of the City of Buenos Aires filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office today. The attacker will have to answer for discrimination, harassment, and threats. The LGBT Ombudsman of the City of Buenos Aires filed a complaint with the courts against the young man who assaulted a transgender woman on a street in Buenos Aires and uploaded the video to social media. "At noon, we filed the complaint with the prosecutor's office for discrimination and several offenses, including harassment and threats," María Rachid, Director of the Institute Against Discrimination of the City of Buenos Aires, told Presentes. The complaint is currently with the Eastern Prosecutor's Office and will be forwarded to a court for investigation. The case went viral yesterday on social media, starting with the Facebook and Twitter accounts of the aggressor, Axel Nuñez, @AxelitoSL. He is a soccer player for Círculos Unidos GON,  a club near the neighborhood where the young men assaulted the victim. Dawn was breaking when one of them filmed the other hitting the woman with a hose or cable. The one behind the camera was laughing uproariously. The violence continued on social media, where the aggressor kept boasting. For a few hours, because this morning, @axelitoSL had removed the videos from social media. His Facebook account is no longer active. His homophobic comments and the video were recorded by several people who contacted the LGBT Ombudsman's Office to file a complaint. "Many people sent us screenshots; it's all documented. In one of the tweets, he even continued mocking her, saying 'Carlitos is fine,'" said María Rachid. "We're going to follow up on the case, both in court and with the organizations where we filed the complaint. Now it depends on what offense they charge him with." If injuries are confirmed, the case could proceed criminally. "We also filed a complaint with INADI (National Institute Against Discrimination, Xenophobia and Racism)." "And the LGBT Ombudsman's Office is also involved, as is the City Ombudsman's Office," Rachid explained.   The club issued a statement condemning the attack and expelled the young man from its ranks. The young man had already been expelled from a soccer activity at another institution for using violence, the Ombudsman's Office told this agency. The LGBT Ombudsman's Office, which filed the complaint, is an initiative created by the FALGBT (Argentine Federation of Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, and Trans) in partnership with the Buenos Aires City Ombudsman's Office in November 2014. Since then, it has received complaints, referred them to the appropriate agency, and followed up on them.
